APRIL 2005 Triumph of Reason sponsored by the Alliance for International Conflict Prevention and Resolution celebrated the peaceful resolution of conflict by paying tribute to the 100th anniversary of the peaceful separation of Sweden and Norway as well as the more recent case of the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic. The countries’ ambassadors, H.E. Jan Eliasson, H.E. Knut Vollebaek, H.E. Martin Palous and H.E. Rastislav Kacer, served as the event Co-Chairs while Vice President Walter Mondale served as the Honorary Chair. The Alliance also presented its first annual “Peacebuilder Award” for excellence in peace-building and conflict resolution to Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf and Rabbi Sjalom Awraham Soetendorp.
